Seachem Matrix Carbon is a truly unique activated carbon, and its high performance is based on its spherical bead shape, the only of its kind on the market today. This permits maximum waterflow and contact, whilst preventing the risk of packing together. Matrix Carbon is a bituminous coal-based, macroporous carbon, which helps remove larger organic molecules such as nitrogenous waste. Due to Matrix Carbon’s very low ash content, there is minimal affect on pH, and has the lowest detectable leachable phosphate content of all major carbon brands tested.

Directions
Always rinse before use. 250 mL will easily treat 400 litres (100 US gallons) for several months. Use in a filter bag. For best results, Matrix Carbon should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. It may be used in a canister filter, chemical filtration module, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter.
