Main Features and Capability

All the Vectra series of pumps share the same main features.

#. All the pumps can be calibrated and auto calibrated to suit your tank to prevent back syphoning and it can also provide a neutral flow in feed mode.

# All are mobile wireless capable via the Ecotech ReefLink (and in the future the new Ecotech Mobius app)

# All can be used in conjunction with the Ecotech Battery Backup to ensure your livestock are kept in great condition should there be a power outage.

Modes

The Vectra line of pumps have several operating moves depending on the way they are used.

In standard return pump mode (most common for those of us using a modern sump layout, You have CONSTANT SPEED, FEED MODE and SPEED LOCK Mode, the speed lock allows you to lock the desired speed and disables the controller so that you don't accidentally change the mode.

In closed loop mode you also get LAGOON, which is a random simulation mode, REEF CREST RANDOM, which simulates a high energy reef situation and GYRE which creates a consistent uniform flow pattern, those of you using the ecotech vortech powerheads will be familiar with these modes.

So whats new about these pumps?

Whats new about these pumps i hear you ask, these specs are near identical to the previous versions of the Pump the S1, M1 and L1. Well its hard to improve on something that was already excellent.

This next generation of Vectra pump from Ecotech Marine has evolved for improvements found on the earlier versions

They have NEW COUPLERS, same modular system but have better easier to turn grips and are designed for standard PVC Sizes making connectivity to your home reef easier than ever.

The base of the unit has been re designed to make it smaller and quieter

A new TOUGHER motor sleeve has been incorporated to make the unit longer lasting and more reliable

Overall the thermal management has been improved to increase the lifespan of the pump

The new pumps are still at the same price so they are still a great pump for your reef tank.
